Our Team

Administrative Staff

When you call Sunningdale Dental Centre or upon arrival at our office, you’ll be greeted by one of our friendly and informative business team members.  They can assist you with appointment times and treatment information.  We have extended office hours, and they will make every effort to accommodate your appointments to fit your schedule.  They will be happy to complete any insurance estimates or claims for you, and where possible, send them electronically.  Should you have any questions, please feel free to drop by or give one of them a call.  They are always happy to assist you.

Periodontal Therapists

Our team of Registered Dental Hygienists help to educate our patients in all areas of oral health and periodontal disease. At each preventive care appointment (commonly referred to as your "check-up and cleaning" appointment) they will perform an oral cancer screening, have the dentist evaluate all your teeth for any signs of decay or other concerns, and remove all plaque, calculus and stain from your teeth.  They take active infection in your mouth seriously and are here to help you achieve and maintain oral health.

Periodontal probing is completed on each adult patient on a regular basis to assess and monitor for periodontal disease. If periodontal disease is caught early, it can usually be treated very successfully.  Periodontal maintenance appointments are scheduled according to each patient's needs.  For some, that may mean preventive care appointments every 6 to 9 months.  For others, who have been diagnosed with periodontal disease, it may mean periodontal maintenance appointments every 3 to 4 months to try to halt the progression of the bone loss.  Our periodontal therapists will also discuss with you any concerns you have at each appointment and any preventative measures that can be implemented to improve your dental health.

Preventive Dental Assistants

Our Preventive Dental Assistants provide the necessary support for the dentists as they deliver your dental care.  They are trained and hold the necessary qualifications to take radiographs (x-rays), dental impressions, do sealants, and other tasks, in addition to assisting the dentists in all procedures carried out.  They are always happy to answer any of your questions and are there to make you as comfortable as possible during your appointment.
