Education and Prevention
As a practice, we are true believers that preventative care and education are the keys to optimal dental health. We strive to provide "dental health care" vs. "disease care". That's why we focus on thorough exams, checking the overall health of your teeth and gums, performing oral cancer exams, and taking X-rays when necessary. There is research that may link gum and bone disease with more serious health conditions such as heart disease, strokes and coronary artery disease, diabetes, pre-term and low birth weight babies, pneumonia, arthritis, chronic inflammatory diseases, and other health problems. With regular periodontal therapy maintenance appointments, you can not only keep your teeth, gums and bone support healthier, you can reduce the risk of these other health problems.
